Our Mission At Terra One, we accelerate the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure by developing and implementing innovative solutions. Our initial focus is on battery storage, a crucial component for establishing a flexible and environmentally friendly power grid. By providing energy when it is most needed, we help improve the reliability and efficiency of the power grid while simultaneously reducing CO2 emissions. Equally important to our mission is our AI-based energy trading in the European market, which works hand in hand with our battery storage solutions. Our Team The energy trading unit is responsible for optimizing assets across all markets, balancing renewables, and proprietary trading. We trade short term power algorithmically in an expanding geographical scope and have a highly technical team of veteran software engineers, leading AI experts and power trading professionals. We are looking to strengthen our team with two additional System Engineers (m/f/d) roles which should cover the responsibilities mentioned below. Tasks Your Tasks Building and maintaining our trading system and all supporting systems (data layer for timeseries and non-timeseries data, CRM and much more) Create new concepts and flows together with the trading team to continuously improve our systems Setup and maintain cloud infrastructures for high availability applications Take ownership for communicating with external service providers to build and maintain API connections Setup and maintain monitoring systems for both technical and business monitoring, as well as reporting exports Support the trading team for system and infrastructure maintenance and possibly python development for the algo trading and ML models Requirements What we expect from you Ownership of your work - move quickly, iterate and make decisions. We want to be quicker than conservative organizations You’re excited about driving progress in a fast-moving startup company Strong and respectful communicator with ability to work in a team High intellectual curiosity and grit combined with a commercial mindset You can be inquisitive and rigorous but also pragmatic High motivation, ability to work in a fast-paced and complex environment, well- and self-organized High level of integrity, ethical standard and good judgment Fluent in English, German is a plus Your homebase should be Berlin for better collaboration. We are working in a hybrid model Qualifications University degree in computer or natural sciences, mathematics or economics Extensive experience with NodeJs & TypeScript, relevant libraries like expressJS & zod Extensive experience with databases (noSQL & SQL - MongoDB, PostgreSQL etc.) Extensive experience with system integrations, external APIs of various types (REST, SOAP, GraphQL, etc.), messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), streaming, microservice architectures, and high-load/high-frequency applications.
