- Intro *New Opening* The Cheese Bar are looking for an experienced
General Manager to lead our Front of House team at Pick & Cheese in
Berlin. We’re dedicated to celebrating the best in German Cheese,
working with suppliers from all around the country to create our
signature grilled cheese sandwiches and other classic cheese-focused
dishes – all seasonal, and made with the best quality produce. Pick
& Cheese is coming to Germany and is the world’s first cheese
conveyor belt featuring a rotating array of 25 different British now
German cheeses, individually paired with a unique condiment and small
producer wines. Think Yo-Sushi but for cheese! We're busy year-round
so you’ll need energy and a positive attitude. We’re an extremely
passionate, creative and determined team, with an eye for detail and a
strong focus on the customer experience. If you’re passionate about
hospitality, have a natural ability to lead and motivate a team, and
love cheese as much as we do, we want to hear from you! Tasks We’re
looking for someone with previous GM experience, who’s highly
organised and commercially minded but who also knows how to manage
people to get the best out of their team. You’ll be responsible for
ensuring the experience of our guests is second to none, monitoring
and maintaining Drink GP and Staff Cost thresholds, and ensuring a
positive working relationship across the entire restaurant team.
Responsible for all FOH operations and management duties at Pick &
Cheese Deliver the company steps of service to the highest standard,
ensuring accurate delivery of the Company steps of service, creating
positive experiences for our guests and colleagues Lead the FOH team,
hiring, motivating and managing staff of all levels and working with
company HR to ensure full training on products, hygiene and H&S
standards Maintain positive relationships and workflow within FOH team
and between FOH & BOH, working closely with the Head Chef Attend
regular financial and management meetings with the Head of Operations
and the company Founder, Mathew to discuss and oversee the wellbeing
and growth of the site - Continuously improve product knowledge and
understanding of our company ethos, conveying this to our guests where
possible. Promote a positive perception of the company at all times,
both internally and externally. Requirements 2 years+ GM experience
Solid wine & food knowledge (German cheese knowledge a bonus but not
essential) Highly organised, proactive and uses initiative Experienced
and skilled at managing, builiding and motivating a team Ability to
read and understand a P&L statement Superior customer service skills
Thrives in a busy, fast-paced working environment
